SPX on YouTube
With the help of the Video Announcements Kaizen, SPX now has a YouTube channel. You will find various videos created by the students in the Kaizen. Videos include the Drop-Off and Pick-Up video, the Leadership Day video, some weekly student announcements, and much more. DisABILITY Awareness Week
The DisABILITY Awareness program is a replacement for the Everybody Counts program. It celebrates the differences in everyone, regardless of abilities, looks, skills, or talents. The day's events consist of various guest speakers sharing their stories of overcoming obstacles. Some of our students get to experience what it is like to be blind or hearing impaired, while others get to experience what it is like to be in a wheelchair. Students also get to participate in programs with adults who have low cognitive ability. All in all, this terrific day celebrates each person's individual uniqueness and God-given gifts.
Immunizations
School Vaccines are required by Indiana State Law. By law, a completed immunization sheet must be given by the first day of school. Any new/transferred and Kindergarten SPX students will need to send in an MD copy of updated and completed immunization records by the first day of school.
The 2022 - 2023 vaccine requirements and recommendations for each class can be found here. Please note that the Hepatitis A vaccine is a 6 month series of 2 vaccines. So please plan ahead so your child's vaccine requirements are complete by the first day of school. Our first day of school for the 2022-2023 year is Wednesday, August 10th.
PowerSchool
PowerSchool is our online grade book. This portal is accessible 24 hours a day and seven days a week. PowerSchool is an easy way to keep up with a student's progress.
School Lunch Program
The SPX School Lunch Team will be serving lunch five days a week. Our team, with the help of parent volunteers, strives to provide healthy, nutritious, appealing meals; establish a consistent lunch experience for our students, and serve as a viable school lunch option for families. Each lunch menu offers a fruit and vegetable and extra options for those with heartier appetites. A salad bar, which is included in your child's meal, will be available most days.
We will be taking your child's order every morning, Monday through Friday. They will have the option to purchase a hot lunch, a bagel lunch, or bring a lunch from home. You will be provided a copy of the menu and also be able to see it online. All lunch charges will be added to your FACTS account monthly.
