Time and Talent Opportunities

Our Youth Ministry develops and coordinates age appropriate experiences to reinforce the Catholic values being fostered in the youth of St. Pius X Parish. In order to succeed, the Youth Ministry needs the active participation of adult parishioners to assist in the various youth ministry programs.

Please review our calendar for opportunities. If you have a gift of time, talent, or treasure that could enhance the SPX Youth Ministry please contact Craig Gehlhausen. All adult parishioners are invited and encouraged to take part in these programs.

YOUTH COMMISSION

Our Mission is to help our youth encounter Christ wherever they are and to be Christ to those they encounter.

Do you have a craft that you would be willing to demonstrate to our youth?  We are currently seeking parishioners who have a knack for working with their hands that would love to demonstrate their craft to our EDGE and Life Teen students.  If interested contact Craig at This email address is being protected from spambots. YOUTH COMMISSION PROGRAMS

Confirmation

This third Sacrament of Initiation celebrates a person’s commitment to the Catholic faith. Preparation for confirmation will begin in the spring of 9th grade year and students will confirm in the spring of their 10th grade year. St. Pius X follows One-Eight Confirmation program, published by Life Teen. Contact Craig Gehlhausen 317-466-3370.

EDGE/Jr. High Group

This group meets on Sunday mornings in the Shalom Youth Space from 9:30 am - 10:45 am. EDGE is a ministry centered on the Eucharist as the source and summit of our Catholic faith. The mission of EDGE is to lead our young church closer to Christ. Online registration is now available.

Life Teen/High School Youth Ministry

Life Teen is a Eucharistic-based ministry for our young people that helps them become more engaged in the Catholic faith. It is a fun and exciting way to share their faith experiences. Anyone preparing for Confirmation should also attend Life Teen.

High School Summer Trips

Youth Ministry participates in many summer trips. Nazareth Farm in West Virginia is a week-long mission trip for 16-18 year old teens. Catholic Heart Workcamp is a week-long mission trip for 13-20 year old teens. One Bread One Cup is a 5 day liturgical youth conference for 15-18 year old teens. Adult chaperones are needed to help with all these trips.

Confirmation

Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is coordinated through the Parish Youth Ministry Offices. Volunteers are needed to assist with service projects performed by SPX youth as well as leading small groups during confirmation classes.

If you have any questions, please call Craig Gehlhausen at 317-466-3370 or email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
