Manager Job Description
St.
Pius X Catholic School in Indianapolis, IN is looking for a part-time
Kitchen Manager. This individual will work with the School Lunch Chairmen,
crew chiefs and crews to help provide nutritious and appealing meals to
the students in a clean and safe environment. This position will be part-time
at the beginning, with an opportunity for full time employment.
The
main responsibilities of this position are:
- Order
paper products, produce and food items needed for lunches each week
- Receive
deliveries and ensure food items are stored in a safe and hazard free
environment
- Work
with crews and crew chiefs to set up lunch service (trays, water station,
condiments) and serve meals
- Work
with crews and crew chiefs in simple food preparation such as preparing
salads, preparing hot food items and pre-portion fruit
- Maintain
a sanitary and orderly kitchen environment following the Indiana Department
of Health food service codes as well as maintaining food safety records
- Report
kitchen maintenance needs to maintenance supervisor
- Help
with clean up of kitchen
- Work
with school lunch chairmen on menu acceptance, plate waste, theme lunches,
etc.
Requirements:
- High
school diploma
- Experience
in the food service industry
- Experience
with purchasing, food safety practices and equipment use
- Experience
with food preparation
- Certified
food handler is desired
- Culinary
experience a plus
