St. Pius X Elementary School Admissions
|
Dear Friends in Christ, Thank you for your interest in St. Pius X Catholic School. We are so glad you are considering our parish school for your child's education. In 2005, we celebrated our 50th year as a school and, with rigorous academic expectations, varied extra-curricular offerings and, most importantly, a strong foundation in Catholic values and traditions, the faculty, staff and administration here at St. Pius X is excited about our next fifty years. The most fundamental goal at St. Pius X is to help students cultivate their relationship with God in the context of the Gospels and traditions of the Church. Students are asked to lead the school in morning prayer, help plan school liturgies, and participate in faith-building activities (such as Living Nativity, Living Way of the Cross and Mother's Day Mass). Such events are instrumental as students seek to understand the role of faith in their lives. With experienced teachers known for going "above and beyond" to challenge and support our students, St. Pius X is also recognized for its strong academic program. We offer all students challenging experiences in the basic subjects, Spanish as well as enrichment opportunities in library/media, art, technology, music and physical education. Extra-curricular opportunities, such as athletics, chess, cooking, and other activities are available to students as well. Based on the performance of our teachers and students, we have been recognized as "exemplary" from the Indiana Department of Education and, just this year, have been designated as a No Child Left Behind "Blue Ribbon" school by the United States Department of Education. At St. Pius X, we are fortunate to have a very active school and parish community who understand gifts such as volunteerism, service and stewardship as essential to living out their faith in God. Our Parent-Teacher Organization is very active at the school, providing students with additional opportunities and resources both inside and outside the classroom. Several school-wide programs are coordinated almost entirely from our committed group of parent volunteers. Such participation bears witness to the spirit of family and community found at St. Pius X, long considered hallmarks of our school. As you make this important decision about which school is best for your child, we invite you to contact us to discuss openings at our school.
