WELCOME TO ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH

If you are new to our church or just visiting, please stop by and introduce yourself. We are pleased to have you share in this celebration of the Eucharist. If you do not have a church home, or your church is not a home to you, we invite you to become part of our parish family. Our church is open to anyone looking for a spiritual home. Parish Welcome Packets can be found on the table across from the Resource Library – the south side of the Narthex. You may also click on Join Us. We hope you’ll join us!

Mass & Communion Times This Week

SUNDAY, September 30, 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time

The sin of the rich man in today’s parable was not that he was rich,
but that he failed to share his wealth with the beggar at his gate.
He knew Lazarus, perhaps walked by him every time he came in or out,
but did nothing to relieve his suffering.
Is there a Lazarus in my life?
What am I doing to help?

FAITH SHARING

Our "Faith Sharing Box" offers questions you may find helpful for reflection in your own personal prayer,
with another parishioner or friend, at home, or in a Faith Sharing Group.

Reflection Questions for the Week

How do you feel when you see a street person? Does it make a difference if you are by yourself or with a group?

In what ways do you identify with the rich person in the Gospel? In what ways do you identify with the poor person in the Gospel?

Who are the people you have never really seen? How can that change in the next two weeks?

Children’s Question

Jesus teaches us to share what we have with others. What do you have that you are able to share?

FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Friends,

Our condolences to Mary Lyons and Carol Wagner on the death of their husband and father, Joe Lyons. Joe died at St. Vincent Hospice on September 21. He was a fine gentleman much dedicated to his faith and family. May he rest in the Lord forever!

Please note the daily Mass column this week – there are a few changes.

I have a wedding Saturday evening in a little town called Morris, Indiana close to Batesville. It’s a family I’ve know for almost forty years. It’s nice that they remember this old man after so many years!

Next weekend is "respect life" weekend. We celebrate the "sacrament of the sick" at all the Masses except 11:00 am. This sacrament is given typically to the elderly, aged and infirm. You are welcome to receive it.

Take care,

Fr. Jerry
